Housebuilder Redrow have expanded their list of achievements with two site managers, Simon Nix and Daniel Cato being awarded an NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award.
The accolade, established by the National House Building Council (NHBC), celebrates the exceptional contribution site managers make in creating homes of outstanding quality.
51-year-old Simon has been recognised for his work at Redrow's The Hedgerows development in Clayton-le-Woods near Leyland. After working for Redrow for almost 10 years and scooping the award for the fourth time Simon says it gets better every time.
Simon said: "It's just such a great sense of achievement and you want to win it again and again.
"It's reassuring to know that the work we carry out on developments is continually meeting NHBC's standards and the award is testament not only to myself, but the team working with me at The Hedgerows, that we provide a high quality level of service and build homes that we would want to live in ourselves."
Simon was also named Construction Professional of the Year in the Residential Category at last year's North West regional Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Awards and he then went on to win the National award at the grand finals in London in November 2018.
Daniel Cato – a site manager at Oldfield Park in Poulton, has won the accolade for the third time in as many years. The 26-year-old from Fleetwood began his career on Redrow's apprenticeship programme and said this sort of recognition makes his job even better.
He said: "Receiving the Quality Award in NHBC's Pride in the Job Award for a third time means a lot to me. I've achieved so much since becoming a site manager three and a half years ago. A huge part of Redrow is the development of its employees and myself and the team that I work with at the Oldfield Park development enjoy building homes that we're consistently proud of."
John Tutte, Executive Chairman at Redrow, added: "We're pleased to report that a record number of our site managers received a Pride in the Job award from the NHBC. It's testament to the fantastic work and commitment from our team that we are able to pick up so many awards this year.
"I am proud of all of our award-winning site managers, including Daniel Cato from our Lancashire division, who first joined us through our apprenticeship programme. I wish all of today's winners the very best of luck for the next round in the autumn."
