Amey's Facilities Management (FM) teams have supported job creation across the country through a number of local and national programmes.
In Bromley and Barnsley, the firm's FM teams have been working with the local care system, where companies help young care leavers develop trade skills by providing expertise, support and guidance to help them achieve their career goals.
Across FM prison operations, its Clean, Rehabilitative, Enabling and Decent (CRED) programme has been helping to give offenders an opportunity to break away from crime and start again when they are released. Prisoners working alongside facilities team are provided with a real-life working environment where they work to industry standards, as well as developing a vocational qualification.
In Liverpool, Amey's FM team at its Support Services Centre have been supporting three students with learning disabilities (from local special school Abbot's Lea) into work via a supported internship. During the internship, the students worked in the various service functions that support Amey's Facilities Management operations.
Speaking on the programmes, Jerry Moloney, Director of FM, Amey said: "Our diversity and inclusion culture is something we are very proud of at Amey. We are a major employer within the FM sector and with a growing skills gap within our industry, we recognise the need to support job creation. The programmes we have been running across our operations demonstrates our commitment to ensuring we are helping people into work and giving them every opportunity to develop their careers."
