Construction News Image
A £25 million care facility has been delivered in High Wycombe, offering award-winning nursing, dementia and therapeutic care to veterans and their partners.

Construction firm Stepnell completed the project for charity Royal Star & Garter.

Delivered over an 83-week programme, the four-storey facility provides accommodation for 74 residents, including purpose-designed dementia care for 30 service users, alongside contemporary communal facilities such as a large dining room, lounge, physiotherapy room, bar, hair salon and activity and training rooms. There is also a landscaped garden area for residents to enjoy, alongside large communal terraces on each floor of the development.

Rob Speirs, regional director at Stepnell, said: "We are really proud of the completed project and have thoroughly enjoyed working closely with such an amazing charity. Being able to create a comfortable space where veterans can benefit from the high-quality care they deserve has been incredibly rewarding for the Stepnell team, and something we hope to do again in the future.

"Royal Star & Garter's Wycombe Home is a great addition to Stepnell's portfolio of luxury care facilities. Health and care is one of Stepnell's key sectors, and our specialist teams have managed to deliver a wide range of modern, state-of-the-art schemes across the UK in recent years."

Andy Cole, chief executive of Royal Star & Garter, added: "We are immensely proud of our stunning new home and of everything that it represents. It enables us to care for even more veterans and their partners through specialist residential car and day care for people living with disability and dementia."
