Permaroof UK Buys Two New Vehicles

Construction News Image
Permaroof UK has invested in two new vehicles to boost the speed and consistency of its service as external couriers continue to feel the pressure of the pandemic.

During the early stages of the coronavirus outbreak, orders for flat roofing and other home building products began to increase as homeowners sought to address common maintenance issues while in lockdown. With courier companies and the Royal Mail under increased strain due to this demand and additional staffing issues, delivery times impacted all consumers and businesses across the UK.

To address this ongoing challenge and to protect its standards of customer service in case of a second wave, Permaroof has increased the size of its delivery fleet from four lorries to six. This means that orders going to its merchant stockists and directly to contractors are guaranteed to remain timely, with reliable deliveries made where and when they are needed.

Adrian Buttress, managing director of Permaroof UK Ltd, said: "One of the challenges we faced during lockdown was couriers starting to let us down, with an obvious knock-on effect to our customers and in turn, their clients. As an independent family-run business, it’s just so important that our standards of service remain consistent, so this investment was essential.

"Having two additional vehicles also increases the capacity of what we can offer which is crucial as the business continues to go from strength to strength."
