The redevelopment of the Hillside and Milton Avenue sites have reached a major milestone as part of the redevelopment of Stonebridge with a traditional Topping Out ceremony.
Higgins Partnerships was appointed by Brent Council to design and build 73 mixed tenure new homes and one retail unit with new public open space linking the two sites.
Steve Boreham, Construction Director for Higgins Partnerships said: "We are really pleased to be able to mark this significant milestone in the construction of these two important sites in Stonebridge which will deliver much needed new homes for the local community.
"As part of our commitment to support local communities within which we work, we have been delighted to work in partnership with Brent Council and the Jason Roberts Foundation to provide a programme of support for those living in the Stonebridge area."
The Hillside site will consist of 51 one, two and three bedroom apartments, across two blocks, up to seven storeys in height with a roof terrace on both blocks, while the Milton Avenue site will feature a terrace of twenty two, four bedroom, three storey townhouses.
The two sites form part of the masterplan to sensitively redevelop within the heart of Stonebridge, with the aim of strengthening and improving community amenities and to enrich the local environment.
Councillor Eleanor Southwood, Cabinet Member for Housing and Welfare Reform, said: "It is always gratifying to see an important development like this reach a major milestone. When complete, this development will go a long way to reaching our target of providing 1,700 new council homes by 2028.
"Stonebridge is one of the key areas that the council wants to develop in partnership with the local community, and is sympathetic and supportive of the environment. I look forward to seeing this development continue, and eventually welcoming families to their new homes."
The Hillside site will also have a ground level under croft car park with 22 spaces and a landscaped podium on the first floor level which links the two blocks.
