Construction consultancy Edmond Shipway has appointed two new associate directors within its Nottingham office, reflecting its wider business goals for 2022.

Both longstanding members of the team, Martin Farmer and Tom Mallory both take on new roles as associate directors and will work with the senior team to drive the growth of the business.

Martin has been part of the Nottingham office since 2006 and has created strong direct relationships with key clients such as The Priory Group, Ashall Properties, Elysium Healthcare and more recently Moto Hospitality.

Tom joined in 2016 and has developed an impressive working relationship with Center Parcs, managing their Capex Programmes, as well as developing relationships with Center Parcs Europe.

Martin said: "I'm delighted to take on the role of associate director. After 16 years with the firm, it's been great to see the progress for not only myself, but for also for the company, most recently achieving a 20 per cent increase in turnover."

Tom said: "It's brilliant to have been offered this step up as I move into my sixth year with Edmond Shipway. To go through the challenges of the last two years and come out the other side with so much success and ambition makes me very excited to see what this year and the future holds."

During the past year, the company has focussed on key strategic sector growth that it plans to continue for the foreseeable.

Flexible working that began during the pandemic is also set to stay following a boost in efficiency, that in turn has driven a rise in profit margin. And maintaining close client relationships to deliver quality results has left repeat business being recorded at 78 per cent with a split of 81 per cent to 19 per cent private to public sector.

David Stevenson, managing director at Edmond Shipway, said: "It gives me great pleasure to see both Martin and Tom becoming associate directors, reflecting our long-term strategy as a business to promote from within. It's humbling to know employees are choosing to stay with us longer, with our staff retention average now at 12 years, it gives me great confidence in the future.

"In addition to their excellent work in developing these client accounts both have made a significant contribution to the effective management of the Nottingham office over the past year. Their hard work, commitment and dedication to the business has been outstanding and I’m sure you'll all join me in congratulating them both on their well-deserved promotions."
