National Grid has appointed international construction and consultancy company, Mace, to its Design & Project Services Framework for the next four years.
Mace's appointment to the 'Project Services' lot will see the company provide consultancy services to support the delivery of National Grid's projects and programmes. The partnership will support National Grid in achieving its ambitions across both its regulated and non-regulated businesses within the UK. The framework allows Mace to be appointed onto multiple individual projects across the UK during the course of the agreement.
The appointment builds on the relationship the two companies have developed since 2010. During this time, Mace has supported some of National Grid's most significant projects and programmes, complementing the electricity and gas company's expertise through several appointments covering the full range of project services, including project and programme management, strategic advisory, PMO services and other associated consultancy support.
Mace has built on its track record of integrating seamlessly with National Grid and its supply chain as an agile delivery partner.
The new lot appointment is likely to add to Mace's existing portfolio of work with National Grid, which includes the 'Integrated Security Solutions Programme' and several 'Visual Impact Projects'.
The appointment furthers Mace's ambitions to create positive change by pursuing a sustainable world, accelerating the built environment's response to the climate emergency. This aligns with National Grid's vision to be at the heart of a clean, fair and affordable energy future as the UK pushes towards net zero by 2050.
Mace has achieved net zero carbon with the help of offsets at the end of 2020 and has committed to helping clients reduce one million tonnes of carbon emissions by 2026.
