Builders Merchants EH Smith have announced they have already reached its fundraising target of £100,000.
A spokesperson from the firm said: "When we were planning our 100 Year celebrations, we set ourselves the ambitious target of raising £100,000 for charity and through the commitment and determination of our staff and support from our families, friends, customers, and suppliers we have done just that … and its only July!
"Through 10k steps a day, head shaves, running events, obstacle courses, bike rides, charity trade days, cake sales, raffles, bulk bag sales and much more we've smashed our target and there’s still much more to go.
"Our staff chose Teenage Cancer Trust as our charity partner in 2022 and although the majority of the funds raised have been for this very worthy charity our staff have also supported the likes of RNLI, Cancer Research UK, Breast Friends Cancer Charity and Mind – Mental Health Charity.
"Over the coming months our staff will be partaking in skydives, walking Snowdon at night, a coast-to-coast bike ride and finally the prestigious London Marathon, giving us every chance to reach an even higher total."
Chairman John Parker commented: "To reach this amazing amount raised in just six months is beyond all our expectations, the enthusiasm from our staff to get involved in fundraising has been exemplary. Which is why we’re not stopping at £100,000 and have set a new target of £150,000 to really make our 100th Year one to remember."
Grace Higgins, Teenage Cancer Trust Relationship Manager, commented: "We are incredibly proud that EH Smith has chosen to fundraise for Teenage Cancer Trust. This support means so much to everyone here at the charity, and the money raised will be truly life-changing for so many young people with cancer. We can’t thank them enough and they are total joy to work with, we can’t wait to see what the next six months holds."

"Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every person and company that have supported our team so far this year, we could not have done this without you."
