Octavius To Deliver Package Of Improvements At Clophill Roundabout

Construction News Image
Octavius has been selected to deliver a package of improvements at Clophill roundabout in Bedfordshire.

Central Bedfordshire Council successfully bid for £6.8 million of government Levelling Up funding to allow it to bring the scheme to fruition. The busy A6/A507 junction has long suffered from congestion; the project will make a huge difference for road users and local residents alike with a new, improved layout providing more capacity to reduce queuing. Enhancements will also be made to the walking and cycling routes close to the junction.

Work will commence on the scheme later this month and is expected to last 9 months.

Octavius' appointment, procured via a competitive tender process through the Eastern Highways Alliance Framework 3, comes after the company successfully delivered the new transport interchange hub project at nearby Flitwick, connecting bus and rail services for the community and delivering a new station forecourt with pedestrian, cycle and vehicle access, a new passenger drop-off and dedicated taxi areas and a public transport interchange with three bus stops and passenger waiting areas.
