Plans to build a one million sq ft logistics unit in Milton Keynes have been given the green light.
The plans were submitted by PLP.
The 44-acre second phase of PLP MK, is the only fully consented, fully serviced and plateaued site in the southern M1 corridor that can deliver a facility of this scale. The development boasts a vertical delivery period of only 9 months from construction start, a clear height of 21m and a total cubic capacity of approximately 1.75 million cubic metres. PLP are planning a construction start in the near future on a pre-let or speculative basis.
The state-of-the-art industrial and logistics facility will follow PLP’s Carbon Net Zero (CNZ) framework, combining CNZ construction with CNZ ready design, adhering to the UK Green Building Council’s Net Zero Buildings Framework. This standard will enable future customers to achieve CNZ operation by utilising built-in renewable energy features and by procuring appropriate renewable energy supplies.
PLP MK benefits from unrivalled transport links, leisure facilities and wellbeing amenities, which combined with the PLP CNZ framework, will assist modern businesses in achieving their ESG targets. PLP are wholly focused on providing customers with a best in a class working environment, market leading flexibility and uncompromised design.
Phase 1 at PLP MK, totalling 1.05 million sq ft across 10 speculative units, is currently under construction, with the first units available now and practical completion of the final unit by January 2024.
PLP MK was acquired in 2021 by PLP's flagship investment vehicle, the PLP UK Logistics Venture (UKLV 1), which is owned by majority investor Ivanhoé Cambridge alongside Peel L&P, Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) and PLP senior management.
