HE Simm Group has been awarded a £16 million contract to install mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services for the Talbot Gateway regeneration.
The works will consist of a 37-week programme at the new regional hub for the civil service. MEP work will begin on the site in November with completion scheduled for September 2024.
The company's internal offsite manufacturing team will also provide a modularised rooftop plant room as well as other modular items such as risers. These features have been valued at £750,000.
The new civil service hub is part of the ongoing £350 million Talbot Gateway Regeneration Scheme. The scheme was developed by Blackpool Council and Muse, with construction work being carried out by VINCI. HE Simm Group was awarded the MEP contract following successful work on VINCI's New Victoria scheme.
Commenting on the project, Greg Simm, Managing Director for HE Simm Engineering in the North, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded this contract, especially as it comes off the back of the work we are currently undertaking at New Victoria.
"It will be the largest commercial scheme delivered by the Northern Engineering Division and we are looking forward to getting going in November."
Reflecting on the impact the project will have on the company, Gareth Simm, Chief Executive Officer, said: "This contract award plays well into our continued diversification strategy, which sees more and more of our work completed in sectors including commercial, industrial and healthcare, whilst also staying true to our roots of delivering the very best MEP in the UK residential sector."
