Property and construction consultancy EDGE has raised £4,232 at its charity golf day for local Nottingham charity, Epic Partners.
The day welcomed 72 attendees from construction firms around the county to tee off and raise awareness of the support Epic Partners gives to enrich the lives of young people and families in the local area.
Based in St Ann's and Sneinton, the registered charity places emphasis on working within deprived neighbourhoods and making a difference to people’s lives by providing them with education, training and skills development. It offers packages to schools, young people and local communities that include sporting activities as well as pastoral services to support learning and emotional resilience.
James Butler, director at EDGE, said: "We were amazed at the turnout for this event, which proved to be a fantastic day and – and it was especially heartening to see so many companies joining in to support this brilliant, local cause.
"We wanted to support a local charity, and having worked with Epic Partners before, we couldn’t think of a better charity to raise money for. We’ve done lots of charitable events throughout the year, such as our five-a-side football tournament, the Midlands Tough Mudda, and providing homelessness charities with extra support with our professionals services on a pro bono basis. Creating this localised, positive social impact is really important to us and we look forward to hosting more events to drive the best for the communities around us."
Peter Bewley, chief operating officer at Epic Partners, said: "We'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended the golf day and to those who donated, but especially to EDGE as organisers and valued supporters of Epic Partners. We’re so pleased to have worked with the team on a few occasions now, and we’re incredibly grateful for their continued support.
"Our aim is to transform communities by running events and activities on a weekly basis, specifically around St Ann’s and Sneinton. We care deeply about our community, and we want those who are in it to take part, have fun and learn all at the same time.
"The generous donation from EDGE’s golf day will allow us to continue making a difference in children, young people and adults’ lives, and offer a real tangible impact to local people in need. Thank you again to all those involved."
