Resurfacing work is to start at the car park at Pitcheroak Golf Course in Redditch.
The car park, which serves the golf club run by Rubicon Leisure, will be closed in stages and then completely for several days to allow for resurfacing, new kerbs, and relining, later this month.
The project will kick off with kerbing works from 18 March, during which time a small section of the car park will be closed temporarily. Full closure of the car park will then follow for approximately 4 days from March 25th to facilitate the much-needed resurfacing and relining.
The old surfacing will be planed off before new surfacing is put down. For this reason, residents are asked to remove their cars from this car park the night before to avoid potential access issues or risk damage to their vehicles.
The Golf Club will remain open for use during this time but will only be accessible by foot. This work will be completed by the council’s contractor Kelbec Civils.
The improvements will not only address the disrepair of the car park but also enhance accessibility and safety for golf club members and visitors alike.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Matt Dormer, said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we hope to keep disruption to a minimum. There is never a good time to close a car park like this one, especially at such a busy Golf Course, but closing it completely for a few days is the best option to avoid any health and safety issues, as well as enabling our contractors to complete the work as quickly as possible. We trust visitors to this excellent leisure facility will understand the necessity and ultimately appreciate the enhancements being made."
