Lovell Partnerships is to start building over 300 new homes on a brownfield site in Newark, Nottinghamshire with contracts now complete following the approval of reserved matters by Newark and Sherwood District Council.
Alongside public space, complete with a children's playground and extensive tree planting, the community of 309 homes will offer a mix of one, two, three and four-bed semi-detached, detached and terrace homes, as well as five bungalows.
Beth Bundonis, regional managing director at Lovell in the East Midlands, said: "The former Flowserve site in Newark offers incredible potential in terms of a strong location that is ideal for commuting to cities such as Nottingham and Lincoln, or to London. It will offer more choice and availability to local house hunters, creating modern and efficient homes for those looking to get onto the property ladder, downsize or wanting to scale up into a larger family home.
"Working with CB Collier throughout the planning process has been incredibly fruitful and all partners are aligned with the aim of regenerating this brownfield land into much-needed homes that support housing targets in the East Midlands."
Working alongside property developers CB Collier, the project will be delivered on the former factory site of the Flowserve Pump Division, providing 45 acres of land with 37 acres available immediately for redevelopment. The plans relating to the design and layout were previously approved in June 2021 with the application relating to reserved matters on scale and appearance also gaining approval in July 2024.
