Caddick has officially opened its new headquarters at Calder House at Wakefield 41 Business Park.

The launch of Calder House has seen Caddick move from its former headquarters at Calder Grange in Knottingley where it has been based since 1979 when the business was first established.

Home to 130 employees, 79 of which are from Wakefield, the new office premises has seen the former Cape House office undergo a £3.8 million renovation to create modern, sustainable and expanded premises for the growing Caddick business.

The refurbishment has seen the building increase in size from 11,000 sq. ft to 15,000 sq. ft with a range of features added to improve sustainability, including EV charging points and solar panels to supply power to the new office.

Designed to future-proof the business for growth, the opening of Calder House closely follows the release of Caddick Construction Group's most recent annual results, which saw turnover rise 38% to £318m with a profit of £7.4m for the year ending August 2023.

Features of the new office include a glazed atrium, open-plan office space, feature walls, a cafe and breakout spaces, and a wellbeing zone to help attract and retain talent within the region as the business expands.

Paul Dodsworth, Construction Group Managing Director at Caddick, commented: "Our former headquarters in Knottingley served us well as we evolved and grew over the past four decades, and while we have outgrown this space, we feel passionately about staying true to our roots. We are very proud to welcome Councillor Denise Jeffery to our new home and to demonstrate our commitment to the city. We’ve invested in making this office space a creative, energised and sustainable place to do business, one that represents a strong economic future for Wakefield."
