Powerlectrik is the first electrical accessories brand in the UK to use a screwless design with a magnetic frontplate for switches and sockets - which not only means a modern, contemporary looking product, but also easy installation.
This new design is patent-pending.
In addition, Powerlectrik is one of the first brands to incorporate Polygiene into their new range. Polygiene is a state-of-the-art anti-microbial compound that kills bacteria and viruses on contact, including MRSA and SARS. Ideal for any modern home or office, switches and sockets with Polygiene are especially beneficial for public buildings where cleanliness is important such as schools, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, trains stations, airports and shops.
Many people do not realise that the switches they touch can also transmit disease. Bacteria present on our hands are transferred to a light switch when we touch it, this accumulates and propagates on the switch. The bacteria are then transmitted to the next person who touches the switch. The use of Polygiene helps break the transmission path of disease.
With Powerlectrik’s screwless magnetic design , absolutely no force is required when affixing the frontplate - the strong permanent magnets pull and hold the frontplate firmly in place, with no loss of strength throughout the life of the product. Decorating is hassle-free with no need to remove the socket or switch from the wall; small amounts of paint on the edges of a switch or socket will not effect the effortless affixing of the frontplate.
Nathan Cole, Electrical Accessories Product Marketing Manager at Powerlectrik, said: “We’re the first in the UK to use this contemporary screwless design with the magnetic frontplate, which offers a unique range to enable trade contractors to cost-effectively fit the latest finishing touches to their building projects.
“In addition, using anti-bacterial Polygiene for electrical switches is a breakthrough technology with significant benefits in the home, office and public buildings such as hospitals. So the Powerlectrik product portfolio not only looks contemporary, but they are safe and germ-free.”
The Powerlectrik screwless range of products have a slim profile and precisely engineered features which ensure that they always look modern, are robust and easy to install.
The range currently consists of 19 popular variants in total across light switches, power sockets, dimmers, phone points and aerial sockets, and comes in four stylish finishes: Polished Chrome, Stainless Steel, Black Nickel and Brass Effect.
Each product is individually packaged in a four-colour retail clam.
