Interbuild Prepares For New Regulations

Interbuild 2007 and NICEIC are set to present the latest Government thinking on a number of legislation topics in a series of seminars throughout the show, held on 28 October - 1 November 2007 at the NEC.

The most important is the introduction of the 17th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2008) due in January next year. This contains numerous changes, many of which will affect current working practices over the next 12 months. The programme of seminars will help guide visitors through the transition period as easily and efficiently as possible, highlighting some of the major changes in installation practice and the various training courses and publications available to aid installers comply with the Regulations.

The seminars will also look at the Government’s decision to extend the Competent Persons Schemes initiative to Part F (Ventilation), Part G (Plumbing), Part J (Heating and Fuel Storage), and Part L (Energy Efficiency) as well as Part P (Domestic Electrical Installation). NICEIC will explain how the organisation can support installers that may be required to extend their registration needs when working in these fields.

Furthermore, throughout this seminar programme, Interbuild and NICEIC are hoping to improve the understanding of the Periodic Inspection, which aims to assist electricians in the confident delivery of quality reports for their customers.
