Site Equipment Demonstration (SED) 2008 is off to a flying start with the number of stand bookings well ahead in comparison to this time last year.
The show is taking place a week earlier in 2008 from 13 – 15 May at Rockingham Motor Speedway, in Corby Northamptonshire, the shows third year at the venue.
Exhibitors reported their best ever show at SED 2007 with a record amount of enquiries and sales. To date almost 200 companies, and more coming in daily, have committed to exhibiting at next year’s all-action plant show – the 42nd National Event for Construction.
Terex Construction was one of the first exhibitors to confirm its presence in the Site Equipment Zone at the 2008 event following on from this year’s success.
Adrian Hyde, Terex Construction’s Marketing Manager reported: “We were proud to be at SED this year and it has been stronger than ever. The stand went down really well, and we saw loads of customers. SED is a key part of the exhibition calendar, and the fact it is so busy shows how healthy the Construction Industry is.”
Terex also praised SED for a well-executed show, particularly the ease in which customers were able to gain entry to the show and the free parking.
Anross Ltd, specialists in segregator buckets, has booked its stand in the Site Clearance Zone. Rod Leyland Managing Director of Anross said: “ SED 2007 proved to be our most successful yet in terms of sales, with new customers collecting equipment from our stand after the closure of the show.”
The SED undercover Pavilion is going full speed ahead and exhibitor bookings are already up by 50% on the same time last year. Diesel component manufacturers, IPU Group exhibited in the SED Pavilion for the first time this year and scooped the SED Best Newcomer award. “We launched a new control system for industrial engines and interest was phenomenal,” said Robert Beebee, IPU’s managing director, “SED is definitely the best place to be and we already have our stand secured for 2008.”
The Truck Zone is motoring on as road transport continues to be big business supporting the construction industry. Vauxhall was one of the first exhibitors to book its stand space as was, trailer manufacturer, SHAWtrack Services. “SED proved to be very beneficial to SHAWtrack and we met both new and current clients – see you in 2008,” said Jeff Wright, Sales Director SHAWtrack.
Russon Access Platforms also had an uplifting show and will be back next year. Alan Russon, Managing Director of the company said: “This year’s SED was probably the best we have ever exhibited at. Customers existing and new were plentiful.”
SED 2008 will also have two new digging demonstration areas where visitors can see even more kit in action.
Parking in 2008 will once again be free and back by popular demand will be SED FM.
