Staff from the Highways Agency's National Traffic Control Centre will be on hand to help local businesses at an event at Towcester Racecourse on November 6.
The Agency, which is responsible for operating, maintaining and improving England's motorway and major 'A' road network, has organised the event to help those local businesses who have a need for the latest information on traffic conditions. This could include logistics firms, entertainment venues, large companies based near motorways or major 'A' roads or simply those businesses that want to let their customers, visitors and employees know the latest traffic conditions before they leave.
At the event, staff from the National Traffic Control Centre will be demonstrating a number of traffic information services, including a free electronic system that gives real-time information on any incidents or delays on the motorway or major 'A' road network and even shows what is currently being displayed in the electronic roadside message signs and the average speed between individual motorway junctions. They will also show how they can help minimise congestion for any company looking to organise a large event.
Lesley Twells-Smith from the National Traffic Control Centre said: "The event is open to any business, organisation or entertainment venue that generates large amounts of traffic. The Highways Agency is committed to supporting businesses and organisations in the region by providing up to the minute travel information and therefore making journey times more reliable for all drivers."
