SED (Site Equipment Demonstration) is not a show which lets the grass grow under its feet, which is why after 42-years, the show remains the UK's premier construction event.
SED endeavours to introduce new innovations year on year, and for SED 2008 (13 – 15 May), Rockingham Motor Speedway, Corby, Northamptonshire), in addition to the new Builders Box Live show, SED has joined forces with the DSA (Drilling and Sawing Association) to create the Diamond Zone at SED, an area dedicated to diamond drilling and sawing products, and techniques.
The DSA held its first small specialist show in Coventry last year, the event was a success, and the organisation's suppliers and manufacturers decided that they should seek to attract a wider audience within the construction industry – hence the SED and DSA union.
"The Drilling and Sawing Association and its members see taking our show to SED as a major step forward in the campaign to increase the awareness of the benefits of using drilling and sawing in the construction industry," said Hugh Wylde, The DSA's company secretary.
"In keeping with SED's ethos The Diamond Zone will feature live practical demonstrations of the various techniques associated with drilling and sawing technology," Wylde reported. "In addition to attracting the specialist drilling and sawing firms in the construction industry, we are also hoping to attract interest from main contractors, engineers, architects and other professionals in the industry, who may not be aware of the benefits of using these techniques."
Amongst the exhibitors to secure stand space in the Diamond Zone are DTAS, Gerry Rose, Golz, Husqvarna Construction Products, ICS Blount and Tyrolit.
"The DSA bringing its show to SED is an exciting prospect and great news," said Mark Bresnahan, SED's exhibition director. "I believe it’s an area that will grow and I am extremely confident that the Diamond Zone will be a very interesting area, offering visitors to the show the opportunity to see the latest in technology, with working demonstrations, which has become synonymous with SED."
The Diamond Zone at SED features alongside Cranes and Access Village, Site Clearance Zone, Truck Zone, Concrete Zone, Pavilion, Site Equipment Zone and the brand new Builders Box Live show. Visit the SED website at www.sed.co.uk for details on each zone, a list of exhibitors, latest news and helpful information on the event, which will be held at Rockingham Motor Speedway, Corby, Northants from 13 – 15 May 2008.
