Association Supports Third Annual Waterwise Conference

The Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA) is once again supporting the annual Waterwise Water Efficiency Conference – The Road to Water Efficiency in the UK - to be held as part of UNESCO's World Water Day events programme on 8 and 9 April 2008 at Keble College, Oxford University.

The event brings together the leading policy makers, doers and thinkers on water efficiency, both as speakers and participants and takes place at a time when the water companies will be in the thick of producing their draft business plans for the next five-year price review. The conference will focus on Waterwise’s Economic Evidence Base for water efficiency and will draw on international case studies to illustrate what can be achieved on a large scale and at what cost.

Regina Finn, Chief Executive of Ofwat, has agreed to speak again as well as Shona Dunn, Head of Buildings at Communities and Local Government, who will speak about the Government’s plans to increase water efficiency in homes and buildings.

In addition there will be a presentation from the Waterwise Steering Group on the

Economic Evidence Base for water efficiency, which the organisation is building for the Water Saving Group. Delegates will also hear from key international figureheads in the water sector.

Supporter of the BMA’s Water Efficient Product Labelling Scheme and Minister for the Environment, Phil Woolas, will also speak at the Conference.

The BMA will take a prominent position at this year’s Waterwise Conference to promote the Water Efficient Product Labelling Scheme, which now boasts more than 300 registered water efficient products.
