The competition was open to Year 6 pupils from primary schools in Gloucester and they were asked to think about what kind of spaces and rooms they would like to see in a school and how they would be used; what makes a good school; and other than learning, what could a school be used for.
The winner was Sally Bankovska from Robinswood Primary School who submitted a written piece. She will win £25 of high street vouchers and a digital camera for the school. An architect from Architects Design Partnership, who ran the competition in conjunction with Gloucestershire County Council, will spend a day with Sally's class to teach pupils about how schools are designed.

The judging panel have awarded joint-second prizes to Danielle Wing from Elmbridge Junior School and Oliver Pritchett from Heron Primary School. They will each receive a £5 shopping voucher.
Cllr Jackie Hall, Lead Cabinet Member for Children's Services, will be presenting the prizes.
She said: "The standard of the entries was very high and 77 pupils took the time to come up with some very interesting ideas.
"This was a useful exercise for the children to think about what they consider to be important features in schools. There were lots of ideas around sustainability and it is encouraging that pupils are thinking about these kinds of issues."
