Lincolnshire County Council and its partners are looking at enhancements including the renewal of road and footway surfaces, following presentations to the public and with the Town Council.
A consultation was carried out by West Lindsey District Council in 2006 to gather views of the local community and, with increased funding now secured, early plans are underway to address the suggested improvements.

The community surveys showed consensus views that the area functioned well but needed improved aesthetics; a continued need for parking, but short term, continued provision of the Saturday Market in its current location and mixed views about use of the Market Place by school buses. Therefore, in addition to better surfaces, the special steering group will investigate the potential for extended use of street lighting facilities and a sheltered bus-stop, traffic management issues on High Street and Grimsby Road and will assess parking facilities and restrictions.
Les Outram, Project Manager, said: "We are pleased that funding can now allow an enlarged and enhanced scheme, principally to renew road and footway surfaces using high quality materials such as Yorkstone where possible. We are also addressing other issues including traffic management, extended street lighting facilities and parking facilities and restrictions, all of which are at early discussion stages."
