Faithful+Gould, an international consultancy providing services for construction and engineering projects, has been appointed to the Learning and Skills Council's new consultancy framework for the provision of cost management, including whole life cost services.

The company has been appointed for all three regional frameworks, covering the South, Central and North of England in an agreement that will last four years. The use of the framework will be compulsory for all further education colleges, specialist colleges and other qualifying external institutions, applying for capital grant support, where projects are likely to cost £5 million or more.

The further education sector has a large, ongoing capital expenditure programme covering over 400 further education providers in England to produce world-class buildings for teaching and learning. The programme is to enhance, renew or refurbish the whole further education estate by 2014.

Andrew Constable, Director at Faithful+Gould and education expert, said: "It is a considerable achievement to have secured a place on all three cost management frameworks. The frameworks have been established to ensure more effective delivery of capital projects. Further education capital projects have become larger and more complex; the framework has been set up to ensure providers are advised by proficient and effective teams of professional consultants. It is testament to our consulting expertise and our knowledge of the complexity of the requirements of the further education sector."
