English Partnerships has launched an initiative to work with 14 selected local authorities to act as pathfinders to bring together public assets and private finance for the benefit of urban regeneration and improved social housing.
Manchester City Council is one of the 14 pathfinders and an early adopter of the local asset backed vehicle/local housing company model, which aligns English Partnerships strategy with local community needs and the demand for good quality social housing.

Turner & Townsend's role is to go to the market to test the proposition with the aim of securing private sector investment to fund the regeneration schemes and also to secure a housing partner.
With the English Partnership concepts and ideas already in place, Turner & Townsend's challenge is to successfully deliver the strategy working alongside the various stakeholders.
