Faithful+Gould Provides New Matrics Chair

Construction News Image
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has appointed Faithful+Gould's Andy Hirst as the new Chair of RICS matrics for Yorkshire and the Humber.

Andy, an Associate Director at Faithful+Gould's Leeds office, has been appointed to the role after being elected by the committee's current members.

RICS matrics is a support network open to all surveyors training towards the APC qualification. Its main role is to provide APC Final Assessment support and career development as well as social and inter-professional networking events.

Andy qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2002 and is relishing the year-long challenge ahead of him.

Andy commented: "I'm delighted to have been appointed Chair and hope to raise awareness of the RICS matrics amongst other chartered surveyors in the region, whilst providing the right platform for young surveyors to integrate into our industry.

"With the construction sector being one of the most affected by the current economic climate, the networking relationships built through matrics are vitally important. A key focus for me is to maintain our support of members and enable the planned continual professional development (CPD) events to be effectively executed, at a time when career progression, and lifelong learning, can often appear less of a priority."
