Speedy Secures Contract With Simons Construction

Speedy Hire has secured a three-year contract to continue supplying tools and equipment to Simons Construction, one of the UK's leading privately owned construction companies.

Under the contract, worth £1m per year, Speedy will cover the provision of all tools and equipment to Simons. This will include equipment and support from Speedy's specialist businesses - lifting, power, space and survey. Speedy Hire will also act as the sole agent for general plant administration.

Speedy will service the contract from a dedicated hire desk staffed within Simons' Lincoln Head Office. This will enable the contractor's personnel to call one telephone number to access ordering, administration, management information and payments for tools and equipment which will be supplied from Speedy Hire's 450-strong network of branches and depots across the country.

A bespoke management package will also provide reports that monitor delivery and collection performance, equipment mix, breakdown response and spend analysis.

George Dickinson, supply chain development manager for Simons, said: "We have chosen Speedy Hire for its national coverage, product portfolio and because they offer a complete solution.

"This agreement has been put in place to provide our sites with consistent high standards in equipment supply.

"We're committed to promoting best practice when it comes to health and safety and Speedy supports this with clear information and on-site training."
