Support services and construction company Carillion have been appointed by the Highways Agency - responsible for operating, maintaining and improving England's motorways and major A roads - along with a handful of other contractors to a new managed works framework contract covering the East and South East of England.
Carillion Civil Engineering which is part of its Infrastructure division is delighted to have been chosen as part of the framework contract - its second one to date, following Carillion's success on the Midlands Works Framework two years ago.
Carillion Framework Director, Jerry Scott said: "This is excellent news for us, we're delighted to be part of this framework which will help the Highways Agency deliver its programme of maintenance and improvement works for the East and South East of England with the option of also working on the M25. This sort of framework agreement works well with our core Values at Carillion including collaboration and professional delivery."
The other contractors chosen were: Interserve Project Services Limited, BAM Nuttall / Hanson JV, Birse Civils Limited, and Lafarge Aggregates / Costain Limited JV.
The two-year framework contract can be extended up to four based on performance and the needs of the Highways Agency.
The contract will include maintenance and improvement works, including resurfacing roads and maintaining bridges. Each project can be valued up to £11m.
