It is a circular blade with carbide cluster segments that can cut combinations of materials in a way that no other tool can.
If you take the principal of a stump-grinder and apply it to a thick blade that runs on an angle grinder or petrol cut off saw, you will have a Rippa Blade. It is so capable that to attempt to define it would be selling it short.
Different trades continually find new uses for it but where it excels itself is cutting through tree roots that cling to the ground slowing their removal. Unlike a chainsaw, a Rippa Blade will happily work through earth, stones and compacted debris around roots.
It is impossible to estimate a time/cost for removing roots but with a Rippa Blade in the toolbox, landscapers will find they are always prepared and guesswork is eliminated.
Just as capable, is its ability to cut through old railway sleepers. Again, using a chainsaw would be far from ideal because of the wearing and clogging effect of the heavy preservative and presence of nails and date studs. The Rippa Blade will tackle these with ease, burning off saturated creosote and oil as blue smoke and striking through metal fixings.
A surprising finish is achieved on the underside of the cut with virtually no splintering. The end grain looks more like it has been cut with a laser than something that resembles a row of brontosaurus teeth.
The YouTube video shows a Rippa Blade cutting a solid rubber tyre in half. More likely though, is the need to cut shuttering on site or metal box section, in combination with a host of other materials at the scrap yard.
Your possibilities are endless when you can rely on a tool with teeth that cannot break or require constant sharpening.
Rippa Blades can rotate in either direction which helps to keep the carbide clusters pointed and clean. When any prominent tips wear down, other randomly positioned tips become dominant in effecting the cut.
The blade is considerably thicker than a diamond blade and has a laser cut noise and vibration reduced centre. At full speed it picks up a lot of momentum which helps to maintain cutting speed.
