The Key Event Helps Unlock NW Housing Market

Construction News Image
More than 280 visitors flocked to a pioneering event on Monday to help people across Greater Manchester to purchase their own property by making the home-buying experience as simple as possible.

Organised by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), The Key Event in Manchester brought together seventeen big name developers with ready-to-move-into homes, four lenders, and independent mortgage brokers, as well as Greater Manchester's Homebuy agent - Plumlife - all under one roof so that people could view their housing options together in one place.

The aim was to help people to get on to the property ladder.

The free 'one-stop-shop' event showcased new homes available in Greater Manchester, as well as providing people with the advice and support they need to make informed decisions about home-buying.

Deborah McLaughlin, NW Regional Director for the HCA, said: "HCA and all the property experts were delighted by the response from the public. It was a great exercise in promoting the initiatives available to would-be homebuyers and we are now looking seriously to roll out more Key Events across the rest of the North West.

"The aim was simply to help people find the right property, to have access to straightforward information about our schemes, and to be able to discuss the kinds of mortgage product that best suits their individual circumstances. We felt it was the ideal opportunity to match people keen to buy a property with developers who have a good range of new homes to sell - and the response from the public on the day was excellent."
