A. Proctor Group Supply Timber Cladding For Anglia Farmers

Construction News Image
A major consideration that specifiers have when designing a construction is how the proposed building will complement the surrounding area.

Where traditional looking buildings are an integral part of the local community, it is important that specifiers take this into account when choosing products for external cladding, as this is what will be judged by the public.

The A. Proctor Group were approached by architects, Arctica of Stamford, who wanted an exceptional timber cladding for Anglia Farmers' new offices/farm shop. The timber cladding not only had to be functional, but also blend in with other farm buildings in the Norfolk countryside which, traditionally, were black in colour.

Mailbec timber cladding, in a board and batten profile was specified by Arctica and The A. Proctor Group were able to supply this in the required black.

The A. Proctor Group worked closely with both the specifiers, to ensure that the technical detailing of the cladding system was correct, and also with the contractors - H. Smith & Sons of Norwich - to advise on the smooth installation, thus helping to meet both the contractors' and the clients' deadlines.

Mailbec is a natural softwood timber, with an unrivalled 50-year warranty against rot and decay, and an 18-year warranty against peeling and blistering of the stained finish. This 18-year warranty can be extended by a further 15 years provided the timber is re-coated within the original 18-year period.

There are extensive benefits to using Mailbec timber cladding, including a proven history of the product. Along with the remarkable warranties, low maintenance and lifecycle cost mean that architects can specify this product with the confidence that the cladding will look amazing for years to come. Ease of installation, using traditional installation methods mean that contractors also benefit.

Mailbec is available in 6 standard colours, however most other colours can be matched if required. Various profiles are available; including Channel; Cove; V-Joint and the Board & Batten style chosen for Anglia Farmers. AutoCAD and PDF drawings of all Mailbec profiles can be downloaded from our website: www.proctorgroup.com.

The A. Proctor Group can also, on request, offer Mailbec cladding with Chain of Custody accreditation which ensures that the timber is sourced from responsibly managed forest, providing income for future generations of forest workers.

The A. Proctor Group pride themselves on their customer care and their Technical and Commerical personnel are available to answer any queries about Mailbec timber cladding, or any of their wide range of products on: 01250 872261.
