The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has urged US companies to come to London and take full advantage of the business investment opportunities developing at London's Olympic Park.
With the Olympic and Paralympics Games less than three years away, US companies still have the opportunity to bid for millions of pounds worth of contracts by registering with CompeteFor, a unique business brokerage service for contracts associated with the London 2012 Games. These contracts run across many different sectors including catering, logistics and the construction of venue 'overlay', including the digital screen that will wrap around the outside of the main stadium.
They are also being invited to invest now in the business legacy of the Games.
The Mayor said: "What's happening right now in London’s East End is a transformation of seismic proportions. It is the biggest regeneration project of its kind in Europe, and will be the epicentre for a wave of economic growth across London and the UK.
"For US companies it offers an unrivalled opportunity to invest in what will become 'the' place to do business in London bringing much needed jobs and superb facilities to people in the capital.
"This is the time to get in the door and start ahead of the competition, so I say 'come east, the Olympic Park is open for business'."
The park, currently under construction in London’s East End, will eventually hold 10,000 new homes, top class education and research facilities, thousands of square foot of retail and office space including a new Westfield Shopping Centre and state of the art stadiums for sporting and cultural events. It will also be home to one of Europe’s largest urban parks and be served by top class transport links to central London, Europe and beyond.
