A recently established geoenvironmental consultancy has been awarded membership of the Ground Source Heat Pump Association (GSHPA) for its geothermal drilling.
Welcoming the development, GeoCon's Director, Ian Walker, said that as well as GeoCon's accolade, its sister company, Rock Energy has also been awarded membership of the prestigious association - for the installation of ground source heat pumps.
Mr Walker, who only established GeoCon Ltd in January 2009 after spending eight years working for geoenvironmental and geotechnical consultancies, said this represented a very positive step for the south Manchester-based business.
"We are already working across the UK, offering a wide range of services to both private and public sector clients," he said, noting that GeoCon provides a comprehensive selection of services enabling all ground-related issues of any property or site to be fully investigated and issues resolved.
"We have advised on thousands of sites and have provided bespoke, innovative, practical and cost-effective ground engineering solutions to many satisfied clients.
"Advice is provided on all aspects of site and property including geoenvironmental assessments and ground engineering solutions as required by clients during property transactions, property lease arrangements, as well as asset management and site development," he continued.
Ian, who is currently working towards becoming a Chartered Geologist with The Geological Society of London, has been involved with a significant number of projects, which have included phase I assessments, desk studies, organising, undertaking and supervising phase II site investigations, scheduling chemical and geotechnical analysis, and compiling all information obtained into geoenvironmental investigation and assessment reports (factual and interpretive) which also include generic quantitative risk assessments.
He has extensive experience of supervising on site remediation and subsequent validation as well as experience in the validation of gas protection measures for NHBC approval.
