High Care Air (HCA) have successfully designed and secured the order for the Main Library at Queen Mary University London.
Working with the project consultant, HCA originally designed the tempered fresh air & cooling system with a view to a finalised detail design being achievable once the restructuring of the area commenced and ceilings were exposed.
Now working with the mechanical contractor and rigid ductwork contractor HCA have been able to provide detailed designs of each of the three large areas that form part of the scheme.
The idea has always been to provide low velocity cooling and tempered fresh air distribution with a low noise and high performance specification. HCA's Fabric Ducting fitted the bill perfectly and with our 10 year warranty and low maintenance anti clog micro perforation system the attraction of less cleaning and therefore less associated life time cost & less disruption proved very attractive to the design team.
Most systems are half round and are mounted directly to the ceiling slab, all of the Air Socks are diffusing air with our Micro-Perforation system designed to deliver exact volumes of diffusion at precise pressures without blocking as quickly as the traditional ‘permeable’ Fabric Ducts.
The client had a choice from 9 stock colours and in conjunction with the architect eventually chose to highlight the diffusers above the stylised ceiling panels with Signal Red colour.
