Aldemore Recruits Equipment Finance Team

Aldermore, the new British bank, has recruited a team of construction equipment finance experts, to further strengthen its asset finance division.

Based in Reading, the division has already provided more than £8 million of funding to SME users of contractors plant and construction equipment throughout the country.

The construction equipment team will work with manufacturers, distributors (including specialist construction brokers) and small and medium sized businesses to provide advice about the sale and purchase of construction equipment such as excavators, trucks and cranes.

Paul Rooney – is the new Head of Construction and reports to the Managing Director of Asset Finance, George Ashworth. Paul started his career at Lloyds TSB in 1998. He then moved to Julian Hodge Bank as Commercial Relationship Manager and Case New Holland where he was Regional Territory Manager. In 2007, Paul joined Caterpillar Financial Services (UK) where he was responsible for developing and managing significant accounts within the construction industry.

The construction team also includes:

Hilary Carberry, Business Development Manager (Scotland) - Hilary has 25 years Asset Finance experience and has spent the last 17 years working in the construction industry, in both vendor finance and direct with end users.

Mike Kilford, Business Development Manager (South & East) – Mike has over 15 years asset finance experience predominantly in construction equipment financing. Prior to joining Aldermore, Mike was a broker specializing in construction finance and before that was a senior manager at Tokyo Leasing (UK) Plc.

Jackie Bridge, Senior Internal Sales Support – Jackie joins Aldermore from Barclays where she gained over 5 years experience in asset finance.

Scott Early, Internal Sales Support - Scott joins Aldermore from Barclays, where he gained over four years experience in both retail banking and asset finance.

George Ashworth, Managing Director of Asset Finance at Aldermore, said: "I'm delighted to welcome Paul and his team to Aldermore’s asset finance division. With their many years combined experience of financing contractors’ plant and construction equipment, I have no doubt they will be able to make an immediate impact and I wish them all the very best for the future."
