Rajesh Kalra, of Ickenham Road, Ruislip, was found guilty of unlawfully extending his property at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on 13 August 2012. He was fined £3,000 and ordered to pay costs of £5,900.
Council officers had served an enforcement notice to Kalra in July 2010, and this was upheld during appeal to the Planning Inspectorate.

Mr Kalra has been given two months to comply with the notice and demolish the illegal extension.
Councillor Keith Burrows, Cabinet Member for Planning, Transportation and Recycling, said: "People must comply with planning regulations or we will take action. This man had been given the chance to fix what he had unlawfully done before it even reached the courts, but he continued to ignore our warnings and now he has a hefty fine to pay on top of removing the extension. It's unsightly and I'm sure other residents will be glad to see it removed."
