North Lanarkshire Council has announced the inclusion of Graham Construction in the next phase of their £150M 'Building for the Future' project.
Plans to build 1000 new, affordable homes by 2020, has moved closer after three contractors were appointed to its second Framework Agreement. Alongside GRAHAM Construction, the contractors recommended by the council's Housing and Social Work Committee are Wates Construction and Lovell Partnerships Ltd.
Councillor Sam Love, Committee Convener said: "A thorough tendering and procurement process took place prior to the selection of the contractors. We've been very pleased with the standard of our new build homes and their finish and are committed to continuing to deliver much needed new, affordable and energy efficient houses across the area.
"I look forward to our plans for the next phase taking shape and I'm confident we'll continue to meet our tenants' needs by delivering the housing they want to live in."
To date the council has completed 117 new homes and work is nearing completion on a further 90 homes at Gartferry Road, Moodiesburn and Laburnum Road, Viewpark.
Work is also underway to build 30 homes at Westfield Drive, Cumbernauld and will get underway shortly on sites at North Biggar Road, Airdrie; Corsewall Street, Coatbridge and Lanrig Road, Chryston. Tenders are also currently being prepared for sites in Motherwell, Bellshill and Cumbernauld.
