Carillion's Birmingham Library Scoops Double Awards

Carillion’s Library of Birmingham has scooped two awards in the West Midlands Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors awards.

The Library was named 'Project of the Year' after coming ahead of over 40 other schemes in the region. It also won the 'Design Through Innovation' category.

The title 'Project of the Year' was awarded by a 16-strong panel of judges, who said there was "an exceptionally strong field of entries".

Commenting on the award, John Sharpe, chair of the judging panel said: "The Library of Birmingham is a more than deserving winner of the RICS West Midlands Awards Project of the Year 2014. It absolutely embodies the values that the judges look for in a development - it serves its users in a way that few other projects could and since opening, has proven itself at the heart of the community.
