Carbon Neutral School Buildings To Be Installed In Lincolnshire

Robert Woodhead Construction (Woodhead) has been appointed to install two carbon neutral school buildings for Mablethorpe Primary School in Lincolnshire.

Woodhead was appointed through an agreement with the East Midlands Property Alliance (EMPA) on behalf of the Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust.

The new buildings will be developed from structural insulated panels manufactured by Net Zero Buildings.

It is understood the buildings will also be fitted with solar panels, saving approximately £1550 per year on energy costs and £2300 generated in revenue from solar energy.

Juliet Slater, Team Leader for Woodhead, said: "We have worked closely with the School to minimise interruptions whilst we carry out the works and have been involved in school assemblies to keep the teachers and pupils up to date with progress."

Managing Director of Net Zero, Peter Johnston, said: "The construction uses modern materials and techniques, this coupled with the full roof solar array will almost certainly ensure they are the two most energy efficient school buildings in Lincolnshire."

Construction is expected to take around six weeks to complete.
