Cemplas Waterproofing and Concrete Repairs has completed the second phase of works at the Hughenden Road site in Hertfordshire.
Due to Cemplas' successful completion of the first phase of works for Skyswood Management, the company was appointed to carry out the second phase.
Cemplas surveyors undertook an inspection and testing of the extent of deterioration caused by water penetrating the balcony decks, and produced a specification and quotation for the works.
Cemplas proposed to use the Vulkem Quick Balcony Waterproofing system and Weber paint coating system to waterproof and protect the balconies.
Company operatives set up site, erected access towers, containers, welfare and barriers, and proceeded to break out all defective concrete, followed by grinding the walkway decks and jet washing the soffits below to provide suitable substrates for remedial repairs and protective coating works.
Concrete repairs and protective anti-carbonation coatings to the balcony soffits were carried out using products from material specialist Weber, and the balcony deck were treated with Vulkem’s quick balcony Waterproofing System which was broadcast with a quartz aggregate to provide a degree of slip deterrent and a aesthetically pleasing finish.
To the delight of the client and residents, Cemplas completed the second phase of works on time and within budget to their complete satisfaction. As part of our on-going relationship with Skyswood Management Ltd, our client has already confirmed instructions for Cemplas to undertake a further repair project to a communal staircase later in the summer.
Since 1969 Cemplas Waterproofing and Concrete Repairs Lts has extensively invested across the business to not only ensure we are meeting our clients targets and expectations, but surpassing them year on year and delivering project quality.
