SES Engineering Services Wins £1.4m Contract

Construction News Image
SES Engineering Services has won a £1.4 million contract to help improve police facilities across South Yorkshire.

The firm will work alongside Willmott Dixon to deliver mechanical and electrical (M&E) services for the new Barnsley Custody Suite on Churchfield.

The 20-cell facility is to form part of Barnsley Police Headquarters and will replace the existing suite on site.

SES will carry out the installation of a range of M&E services, including ventilation, air conditioning, heating and lighting.

The firm previously completed a £2.7m M&E contract on South Yorkshire Police's main custody facility earlier this year in Sheffield.

Paula Ibberson, Programme Manager, South Yorkshire Police, said: "M&E was the biggest area of risk we needed to address in the replacement of our old estate. Working with SES on Sheffield has ensured that we have delivered a sustainable building, which meets the strict requirements set by the Home Office whilst also reducing our ongoing revenue costs."

Steve Joyce, SES' Regional Director, added: "Having worked together superbly on the Sheffield and Rotherham Custody Suite, we're delighted to be able to transfer our skills and maintain our excellent relationship with South Yorkshire Police and Wilmott Dixon on the Barnsley project."

The project is due to be completed in autumn 2016.
