Beard Construction Appoints New MD

Beard Construction has appointed David Sershall as its new Managing Director (MD).

With over 28 years' of experience, Mr Sershall joins the company from VolkerFitzpatrick where he was MD of its Building Division.

He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Building and Institute of Directors, as well as holding an MSc in Construction Project Management and degrees in architecture and building management.

In his new role, Mr Sershall will be responsible for leading Beard's Oxford construction business once Regional Director John Youle steps down at the end of September.

Former MD Mark Beard, who is to become Executive Chairman, said: "David is a great fit for the business and we're delighted to have him on board.

"He brings a wealth of operational management expertise to Beard, an in-depth knowledge of design management and significant experience delivering complex multi-million-pound construction projects. David also shares our passion for quality and I have every confidence that he will make a significant contribution to the continuing development and success of the company."

Mr Sershall added: "I believe there's a great opportunity to capitalise on the company's strong reputation in both the private and public sectors and I am excited to be in a position to help deliver the next part of its growth plans across the South of England."
