Construction News Image
Britcon has completed a £68,000 refurbishment project in York.

The civil engineering firm delivered the three-week scheme for the Information Centre at the University of York.

Features of the 'FastTrack' project included stripping out, reconfiguring and refurbishing the centre with new floor finishes, ceilings, improved lighting and feature walls.

In addition, the firm also procured and installed new furnishings to make the facility more efficient in how it manages the flow and handling of visitors, as well as its image presentation and information display.

Gary Ashmore, Head of Estates Development at the University of York, said: "This important reconfiguration and refurbishment project had to be completed in a very short timescale, in the heart of an occupied building which is located in one of the most publically visible and accessible parts of our Campus.

"The risk of things going awry was high but the Britcon team rose to the challenge, delivering a high quality end product on time and with minimum disruption to other building occupants.  The University is delighted with the new space."
