ISG has won a £32.5 million contract to build a new office development in Cardiff.
The Central Square project is being delivered for Rightacres and marks the second contract secured with the developer. ISG is already underway with work to build a new BBC Cymru Wales headquarters adjacent to Cardiff Central Station.
This latest deal involves building a 130,000 sq ft, 12-storey office development next to the BBC development.
Features will include a steel frame building with a striking glazed façade, sitting on top of a shared basement structure with the BBC, providing operational and parking capacity for both developments. The structure includes nine floors of open place office accommodation and a terrace area at level seven.
The building will contain a high-specification comfort cooling system as well as LED lighting throughout and advanced data connectivity. A modern building management system (BMS) with a focus on environmental performance will see the project receive a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating.
Jon James, regional director for ISG's UK Construction West business, said: "Demand for highly specified office space in central Cardiff is significantly outstripping supply so it's not surprising that there has been so much interest in this office development at such an early stage.
"Building on our partnership with Rightacres, this latest win gives us the opportunity to complete two of the key elements of the Central Square masterplan and represents a major vote of confidence in our credentials delivering high value, high quality new build schemes in Wales."
