Tony Shenton, Business Unit Director of Wates Construction, North West, said: "Once a project is on site there has already been extensive work done by a team of experts to ensure that it is viable, within budget and will guarantee high quality for our clients, and its subsequent success is reliant on this process being coordinated efficiently and effectively.

"Managing a smooth pre-construction process is at the centre of our work-winning strategy and I have no doubt that David's industry experience will further enhance this commitment, giving our new projects the best possible footing and ensuring that we continue to deliver exceptional buildings."

Mr Roberts added: "I look forward to bringing further success to Wates and to adding to the expertise in the region's work winning team."
