International manufacturing specialists, Häfele, have revealed how you can create the perfect partition with its Sliding Door Gear Systems.
With over 35 years of experience supplying architectural fixtures and fittings, the company takes pride in offering bespoke project support across a wide range of sliding and folding door applications.
"Our comprehensive range includes hardware for internal and external use, along with wardrobes and cabinets, suitable for both domestic and commercial purposes," Clare Bedford, the Ecommerce Manager at Häfele said.
"We also offer a Lifetime Guarantee of 10 years on our own brand range of sliding door gear: Slido. As an internationally trusted supplier, we're proud to have supplied components for a range of prestigious, high-end renovation projects across the globe."
Below are some of the locations where you can see how Häfele's sliding door gear systems were used to create partitions.
The Garden Museum, London
As part of the redevelopment project of central London's famous Garden Museum, Häfele provided Hawa Variofold 80/H Sliding Door Systems to Icklesham Joinery, who were carrying out the project.
As the museum was situated next to the Lambeth Palace, it was often misunderstood to be a part of the palace and the entrance was overlooked. The aim of the project was to create a new public face for the building by creating a visible separation from the palace.
In addition, it was crucial that the doors used offered the best possible views of the gardens. As such, the new entrance provides a fresh, urban presence, extending the museum using a cluster of copper clad pavilions that form a Cloister garden.
The V and A Museum, London
Häfele's Hawa Super 500/A sliding door systems can also be seen supporting the access solutions for the V&A's new exhibition space.
The company said: "We were asked to specify a system that was simultaneously heavy-load bearing and aesthetically appealing and the Hawa Super 500/A can support doors weighing up to 500kg. The system also has the benefit of supporting various fitting options with the upper track being wall mounted or ceiling mounted."
Below are some of Häfele's handpicked solutions that are ideal for creating different kinds of internal or external partitions.
International Sliding Door Systems
Interior sliding doors are ideal for sectioning off areas, opening and merging areas and ultimately giving the user complete control of room boundaries. Perfect for set ups that need maximum flexibility, such as meeting rooms, these solutions provide versatility and are an extremely popular design choice within both commercial and domestic settings. Häfele offers an extensive range of interior sliding door systems, suitable for both side and top hung fixings.
• The Slido Design 80-M - A high-end offering that comes without the luxury price tag; the Slido Design 80-M sliding door gear system allows for the effortless glide of wall mounted doors across openings, creating the seamless illusion of floating. The unique system design means all tracks and fixings are hidden, ideal for both residential and commercial applications in environments such as hotels or offices.
• The Slido 80-S - For environments that require noise reduction, such as offices, studios or outlets, the Classic 80-S Sliding Door System from Slido has increased soundproofing to help keep noise contained. This system is suitable for installation in areas where hinged doors are used and is available exclusively from Häfele.
Exterior Sliding Door Systems
Exterior sliding doors are perfect for creating immediate access to outdoor areas and transforming a room setting by enhancing natural light. Häfele's range of exterior sliding door fittings offers exceptional durability and includes straight sliding patio doors and shutter systems; ideal for windows and shutters.
• The Slido Fold 100-U – This high quality folding door system is perfect for patio doors and comes with added security features to keep residential or commercial spaces safe. Also offered with a non-mortice option for easier preparation, the Slido Fold 100-U is one of the company's most popular, hardwearing and reliable sliding door options.
• Imperial 200 bottom Rolling Sliding Door System (available on special order) - This system offers maximum versatility for projects that require either interior or exterior application. The system is designed for straight sliding timber partitions, fully glazed patio doors or for use on flush panelled doors.
