Lendlease has strengthened its construction business in London with a key senior appointment.
Claire Pettett will take on the Executive General Manager role in London, starting from the end of July. She will replace Alan Bates, who has taken on a new role within Lendlease's Italian business, where he is Programme Director.
Utilising her more than 11 years experience with the company, Claire will help develop Lendlease's pipeline of work in the capital. The firm's London projects include the construction of Google's landmark new headquarters in King's Cross, and Bishopsgate Plaza.
Claire brings a wealth of knowledge of the way Lendlease operates to her new role, and her career with the company so far has seen her work across a wide variety of roles in both development and construction. She was part of the team that launched the first new homes and offices on the major developments at Elephant Park and International Quarter London, and Claire moves to her new role from the position of Executive General Manger Finance for the construction business.
Describing her new role, Claire Pettett said: "I am very proud to be part of this business and excited for the opportunity to work with a team that has such a strong track record building major and complex schemes in the heart of one of the world's greatest cities.
"My job will be to help us continue to build our business within London on the very strong foundations that have been put in place. I have a real passion for developing talent, and as a woman working in what is regarded as a male-dominated industry, I hope my progression can play a role in inspiring other women to consider a career in construction."
Neil Martin, COO for Lendlease Europe, added: "Claire brings a huge amount of knowledge and experience of different aspects of our business to her new role. I know that she will make a significant contribution to the team at a really exciting time to be focussed on our projects in London."
