How Do You Change A Lightbulb In An Office Without Disturbing The Desks?

Construction News Image
Ever since the Work at Height Regulations came into force in 2005, it's become a more commonly asked question. Actually, it's now referred to as re-lamping and is part of the planned maintenance. Most offices are built with lighting and air conditioning in place before anybody begins to think of how the space is going to be used. This means, more often than not, these services will be above a desk. The problem then, is gaining access to the services for maintenance without the need to decommission the desk.

High clearance, desk spanning aluminium scaffold towers have been around for years, but in this push button age where time is money, the time it takes to assemble and dismantle the scaffold is crucial.

The Desksurfer is the ideal solution to meet your over desk access needs.

It takes just a few minutes to set up giving you a working platform above desks.

No need to clear or move a desk before you work, The Desksurfer provides plenty of clearance for desk items.

The Desksurfer was designed to specifically answer the difficult access requirements when working over desks. A 900mm out-reach platform provides an easy 1200mm of hands on access to light fittings, fan coils etc.

The Desksurfer is both quick and easy to use. The platform is height adjustable for low level and high level applications, providing access to the underside of ceilings and when needed, above ceiling tile level. The Desksurfer has a Safe Working Load of 150Kg.

With its space saving design The Desksurfer compacts to a mere 650mm wide x 1350mm long x 1950mm high (1970mm with option 5, adjustable legs), which makes it a versatile access tool to fit through doors and into small lifts as a one piece, self-contained mobile unit.

The platform height ranges from 875 mm (795mm underside platform clearance over desks) to 2240mm and is adjustable in 273mm rung increments, with a braked hand operated winch to raise and lower the mast.

Average standing reach height range is 2875mm to 4240mm (based on reaching 2.0m).

Manufactured from robust aluminium alloy, The Desksurfer is not only very strong, but light and easy to manoeuvre. It is mobile by pushing or pulling using manual effort from the base only and without a person or materials on the platform.

The self-weight of the unit is approximately 90Kg.

The Desksurfer has been designed with the minimum of loose components in order to make it quick and easy to use. The option of a fold down mast (FM models) allows "flat pack" transportation in a "Transit sized" van or large estate car when needed.

Ability International Ltd have been manufacturing bespoke access solutions for over 30 years and look forward to answering all of your access needs. Click here here to get in touch.
