Lendlease have announced the appointment of Simon Gorski as their new Managing Director for Construction in Europe.
With nearly 15 years of experience at Lendlease, Simon Gorski joined the company as a Commercial Manager in 2004. He has undertaken various roles through the business ever since and leaves his current position as the Executive General Manager, UK Regions to take on the new role.
Simon's successes while head of the regional business include delivery of the largest prison in the UK and securing the contract to repair, refurbish and restore the Grade 1 listed Manchester Town Hall. He also won Lendlease the role of sole partner with Scape on the National Construction Framework for Principal Works, delivering large-scale construction projects above £50m for the public sector.
Simon Gorski's career began as a quantity surveyor. He then attended the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst ahead of a decade of service in the British Army. The former Army officer was instrumental in the delivery of major defence programmes including the Regional Prime Contract for the South West, and Project SLAM - a contract to provide 23,000 of the Ministry of Defence's bedrooms for single personnel.
Lendlease's new Managing Director for Construction, Simon Gorski, said: "My focus will be to ensure Lendlease remains a leader in the construction sector and continues to provide an exceptional service to our customers. We already have some of the finest talent in the industry working at Lendlease, and I have absolutely no doubt that we will continue to deliver great schemes and win new business."
Simon takes over from Neil Martin who was recently promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer for Lendlease in Europe.
Dan Labbad, CEO for Lendlease Europe, said: "At Lendlease our construction business is synonymous with the delivery of high-quality projects on time and budget for both the public and private sectors. Nobody is better qualified to continue that record than Simon. He is an outstanding member of our team and thoroughly deserves his new role."
