Planning permission has been approved to develop 175 new homes in Liphook.
Housebuilder Redrow secured planning for the new houses which represent the second phase of the Lowsley Farm development.
East Hampshire District Council granted approval for the proposal.
The plans include the transformation of the 14-acre site into a new community, Maple Walk. The site adjoins with Oak Park, a Taylor Wimpey community which represents the first phase of this development.
The homes at Maple Walk will vary in size from one- and two-bedroom apartments to two, three and four-bedroom houses, 40% of which will be affordable. Taken from our award winning Heritage Collection, the homes are inspired by the Arts & Crafts architectural movement of the 1930s. Exteriors are intricately designed with traditional features such as gable ended roofs, while interiors are spacious, bright and flexible, with high ceilings, large windows, open plan living and integrated appliances.
In addition to the 175 new homes at Maple Walk, we have designed the scheme to retain the two existing oak trees on site. The trees will form focal points within two pocket spaces within the development.
The company is also investing in the wider community, with contributions to green travel planning, employment and training and Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).
Craige Burden, Head of Planning at the Southern Counties division, said: "We’re extremely pleased to achieve consent for this new community in Liphook, following extensive consultation with East Hampshire District Council and Bramshott & Liphook Parish Council to ensure the proposals complement the surrounding area and provide suitable, high-quality new homes.
"Liphook is a charming location, on the tip of the South Downs and brimming with independently owned amenities, ideal for a range of buyers who are looking to settle down in an area enriched in community spirit and surrounded by vast green open spaces to explore. We're looking forward to launching the new homes for sale in due course."
